  1. I am retired Army and thinking about becoming a member of this club. I own a 308 ruger. Is this weapon allowed on this range? Also are there positions for firing in the prone.

    • Congratulations on joining the rest of us retired “green suits” and thank you for your service. Yes the 308 cal round is allowed. The upper (covered) range has shooting bench positions and the lower range is setup as a combat pistol range but does also have two 100 yard bench firing points. All targets must have a berm behind them and there are no prone firing points on either range.

    • Seth, thank you for your question regarding public use of the range’s for zero of rifles for hunting season. The answer is no, a membership is required. We (the club) open some of our facilities to the public (non members) on a scheduled basis. These facilities are trap shooting, five stand, skeet and sporting clay’s. We also host hunting safety classes and activities like rim fire competition and steel plate pistol shooting. None of these advertised and supervised activities require a membership. The use of non revenue generating facilities like the rifle and pistol ranges, the club house and any activities that are not supervised and hosted as “open to the public” require a current year membership. The cost to join is $25 for a regular membership, $10 for Active Duty Military, $10 for Seniors (over 65) or $5 for a Junior (under 18 years of age). All memberships except the Junior are family memberships and cover spouse and dependent children under 18. The membership year runs 1 October through 30 September each year.

  2. 25 dollars is a very reasonable price to pay to use your firearms. also, probably the cheapest way to exercise your rights with no laws being broken and no upset landowners. Respect this club. I’ve been new to.them for just a couple years. After being to other local clubs, Sackets is a tight group of friends and always welcoming more. Follow the rules (like any other club) and you will receive the upmost respect. Hope to friend members there and will.be back every year

  4. As a Canadian citizen am I allowed to join as a member of the club…i live just across the bridge in Gananoque, Ontario CANADA. The membership at $25 is a great deal and by the comments, reviews, and pics I know I would love to be able to join! Also is it bring your own guns only? Or do you have rentals on any type of fire arms? And as a Canadian do we need any sort of permit to operate at your facility? Thanks in advance for the info and look forward to hearing from you soon!

    • Hi Chris, thank you for your interest in our club. You are welcome to join at the current $25 US for a membership. We do not rent firearms, nor do we sell ammunition. You must provide your own weapons. You can not be in possession of a handgun without a NY License to Carry said weapon (s). You will not be able to shoot anything other than long guns. And of course, all laws regarding transport and possession of firearms apply. Hope this helps.
